SERIES NATURE OF WORK: The Workforce Development Analyst job series describes work in workforce development programs to help job seekers succeed in the labor market by providing access to employment, education, training, and support services and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.
DEFINITION: This is entry level training work in workforce development programs.
An employee in this job participates in formal training sessions, workshops, and on-the-job assignments to develop competence and proficiency in implementing and evaluating workforce development programs and initiatives. Employees assist Workforce Development Analysts and Supervisors in planning, analyzing, developing, implementing, and evaluating workforce programs. Employees are assigned practical work assignments in several workforce development programs to gain exposure to and awareness of all workforce development programs and the laws, regulations, and procedures that govern them. As experience is gained, the projects and work assignments become progressively more difficult. Supervision is received from a Workforce Development Supervisor who assigns and reviews work and ensures compliance with and attainment of the goals and objectives of the training plan. Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees will be promoted to the Workforce Development Analyst 1 job.

• Participates in formal and on-the-job training programs to provide the knowledges, skills, and abilities necessary to develop, implement, and evaluate workforce development programs.
• Participates in formal and on-the-job training programs and workshops to gain an understanding of the one-stop delivery system and its partner agencies and functions within the workforce development community; the administrative provisions of the laws, regulations, and procedures that govern workforce development programs and initiatives; and the developmental activities, program resources, and eligibility requirements for adults and dislocated workers.
• Performs or participates in research assignments to gain familiarity with and experience in applying the various statutes governing workforce development programs and initiatives.
• Participates in developing new or revised workforce development guidelines in response to legislative actions or changes in programs or policies.
• Performs related duties as required.
ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of the use and functionality of Microsoft Office Suite software.
• Ability to analyze and interpret written information and numerical data.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: (NOTE: Based on the Entry Level Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities):
• A bachelor’s degree;
or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
