Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. To help create a smooth transition of reentrants from Community Corrections Centers (CCC) or Community Contract Facilities (CCF) into their respective home communities. To complete all required Furlough Investigation paperwork and keep track of time-sensitive requirements in regards to State Drug Treatment Program (SDTP) Furlough investigations. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. (60%) - Maintains National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification for conducting furlough investigations. Conducts criminal records checks on all furlough sponsors with local and/or state law enforcement authorities. Reviews reentrants’ furlough requests/cases with the Regional Director, Center Director (CD), and Corrections Counselors as necessary. Maintains the Regional log book for all furlough requests and assigns file numbers to each case when received. Maintains case files for all Regional furlough reports and supporting documentation up to two years after the receipt of the initial furlough request. Prepares written reports documenting the findings of all furlough investigations and makes favorable or unfavorable recommendations regarding home furloughs to those sites. Maintains accurate and updated records of all reentrants and/or family contacts for furlough investigations. Sends SDTP completion letters to judges, CDs/Contract Facilities Coordinators (CFC), and other required parties at the time of a SDTP reentrant’s successful completion of the program. Send requests to the Office of Victim Advocate (OVA) to review proposed furlough information to determine if they have an interest in that case. (35%) - Contacts individuals outlined in policy to ascertain any concerns to the reentrant’s furlough request. Identifies problematic areas and provides input to appropriate Department of Corrections (DOC) staff regarding furlough considerations. Reports to their supervisors or designees any suspicious, threatening, non-compliant, or otherwise out-of-the-ordinary behaviors and/or situations encountered within the overall conduction of professional duties. Reporting will include any suspected alcohol/drug use or any other violation of the State Drug Treatment Program or Community Corrections policy. (5%)- Performs other related duties.
