Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. This employee maintains a safe and sanitary environment in accordance with DHS, Hospital, and accrediting agency standards. -Dust, mop or strip, wax and polish floors and clean baseboards in assigned area. -Clean and polish furniture and fixtures; clean lavatories and replace lavatory supplies. -Terminal cleaning beds, dressers, lockers, bedside cabinets (interior & exterior), and turning and replacing mattresses. -Spot clean walls, wipe window sills and clean stairwells. -Dust and clean air vents. -Clean carpets and shampoo when necessary. -Clean water coolers. -Gather and remove trash from assigned area. -Maintain Dietary areas and equipment. -Wash windows and scrub screens. -Hang and maintain window coverings in acceptable condition. -Report needed maintenance repairs and needed housekeeping supplies to the Custodial Work Supervisor. -Complete necessary documentation. -Sweep entrance ways and walk ways. -Replace light bulbs in all areas and clean light fixtures. -Shovel snow from walk ways and door entrances. -Properly remove infectious waste to appropriate Infectious Waste storage area. -Clean and prepare buildings to house outside functions, including trainings, dinners, conferences and patient advocate activities and events. -Clean and load cook-chill units. Keep all work equipment and dietary areas clean; etc., tables, chairs, walls, floors. -Performs related work as required. Essential Job Functions: 1. Dust, strip and wax floors, sweep assigned areas 2. Clean & polish furniture 3. Clean beds & dressers, replace and turn mattresses 4. Follow Housekeeping and equipment operation/material use orders and instructions. 5. Dust & clean air vents, wash windows and scrub screens 6. Clean floor edges, corners, baseboards 7. Loads Cook-Chill units and works equipment 8. Shovel snow from walkways 9. Remove infectious waste 10. Climbs ladders and steps to perform duties. 11. Operates machine buffers, automatic scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, mops, brooms, and related equipment. Writes daily reports and observes uncleaned areas and corrects them |
