Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. This position is responsible for operation of heavy construction equipment to complete agency in-house construction projects in support of all Bureaus within the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC). This includes buildings, dams, access areas, state fish hatcheries, marinas, roads, and bridges. Work is assigned by verbal instructions from supervisor at the beginning of the day. Instructions are given throughout the workday as work progresses. Must be able to operate heavy equipment owned or leased by the PFBC, this includes, but is not limited to the operation of track excavators, track loaders, rubber tire loaders, dozers, graders, backhoes, gradall, hydraulic dredging barge, and vibratory drum rollers. Must be able to drive dump trucks and articulating rock trucks with gross weight of 32,001 pounds or more. This position is responsible for operating a tractor trailer to transport the equipment to the projects they will be working on. Responsible for making sure load is properly secured and of legal limit, including overweight/size permits, and obey all traffic laws. Servicing of construction equipment and vehicles, including safety pre-trip and post-trip inspection, lubrication, oil change/servicing, tires, brake adjustment, track adjustment, repairs, etc…. In addition to operating heavy equipment, this position is responsible to perform labor type duties. This includes, but is not limited to: - culvert and pipe installation. - install guide rails and posts along roadways and parking lots. - installation of boat launch planks at agency owned access areas. - hand digging and raking. - seeding and mulching disturbed areas from construction activities. - installs erosion and sedimentation measures such as silt fence, straw bales and rock filters. - cleaning brush and trees. - forming and pouring concrete including the placement of reinforcing steel. - operate power tools and saws. - assists the survey crew with field work. Must follow all safety rules and regulations associated with duties. Performs related duties as required. |
