Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Provides semi-skilled maintenance and repair work in the building, mechanical and electrical trades at Little Pine, Hyner Run, Hyner View and Upper Pine Bottom State Parks. Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Cleaning of all bathroom facilities using the 12 step cleaning procedure. The primary responsibilities of this position are daily cleaning of restroom facilities. Cleaning of the rental cabin between turnovers. Checking the pool facility and general cleaning. Mowing and weed eating of the park grounds. Assisting in other maintenance needs such as minor carpentry, painting or staining, tree and branch cleanup, litter cleanup, and other tasks as needed. Repair jobs of a routine nature, which are carried out with only general supervision, or more advanced work assisting a journeyman tradesman or maintenance supervisor in regular trades maintenance jobs. Performs preventative and operational maintenance of facilities, buildings and equipment, including cleaning, basic repairs and adjustments. Performs routine building maintenance such as painting, re-shingling roofs, repairing screens and windows, requiring the use of hand and power tools. Replaces bulbs, shades, switches; assists with electrical maintenance and repair; oils, adjusts and cares for electrical motors. Mixes cement and plaster; helps to lay blocks, bricks and pour cement forms; makes minor plastering repairs. Assists skilled tradesman with grounds maintenance, carpentry, plumbing and electrical work. Paints and stains park buildings, structures and signs, and other miscellaneous wood products. Performs minor maintenance and repairs to park vehicles by changing oil and filters, greasing fittings, checking and filling fluid levels etc. Performs general maintenance to water, sewage and plumbing systems including, blocked drains, faucet repair and water systems winterization. Removes snow from sidewalks and parking lots using snow removal equipment; cuts grass using lawn equipment; and maintains park trails. Operates and maintains hand and power tools. Use of chainsaws to remove target trees and clean up fallen trees. Clean up of flood debris from high water events. Attend all required and necessary training. Spraying of herbicides to help rid park of invasive species. Operates park vehicles and equipment.
