Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This is a seasonal semi-skilled laborer position at Neshaminy State Park.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Major duties include but are not limited to opening and closing park gates, cleaning park restrooms daily, emptying trash receptacles, picking up litter, cleaning pavilions and cooking grills, mowing grass and trimming weeds.

Other duties: Painting, repairing park facilities using some skills in the carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and masonry trades, performs routine maintenance to vehicles and equipment.

Some equipment used includes; woods rotary mower, lawn tractors, backhoe, dump truck, chain saws, weed-wacker and a wide variety of small hand and power tools used in the carpentry, machanical, electrical, plumbing and masonry trades.

An employee in this class performs work alone or assists in a work crew lead by another semi-skilled laborer, maintenance repairman, maintenance supervisor or park manager.

Employee works with volunteers/volunteer groups on a variety of projects and may be required to act as the lead worker on these projects.

Uses radios and telephones for communication between park staff.

Performs any other maintenance related functions as deemed necessary by the maintenance supervisor or park manager.

Work is assigned verbally and in writing daily or prior to weekend work. Work is reviewed periodically or at the end of the completed task for quality and completeness. Work may be assigned by the maintenance supervisor or the park manager.
