Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. FOOD PREPARATION: Clean, wash, peel, core, chop, slice, dice, and soak fruits and vegetables. Prepare and plate special desserts and salads. Prepare sandwiches and special diet needs as per order. Bag bread items. Lift cases of food and beverage products from coolers to work areas and back to coolers. Load, transport, and unload food carts at each nursing station with snacks, nourishments, and beverages. FOOD SERVICE: take tempetures of all hot and cold foods being served. Set up serving line and assemble food on plates and place food items on trays according to the diet spread sheet . Call out diet orders for tray assembly. Check trays to meet needs of individual diets. Transport tray carts to and from serving areas. Set up serving line in Dom dining room, plate food items as needed. Deliver trays to residents as assigned. Refill toast, coffee and sugar receptacles. SANITATION: Scrape dishes and silverware from trays on tables in nursing home and in domiciliary dining areas. Load, operate and unload dish machine, stack clean dishes and return to proper storage areas. Wash tables, clean dining rooms, serving areas, kitchens, and food preparation areas. Clean refrigerators, food carts, toasters, grills, coffee pots. Wash and sanitize table tops and dining room furniture. Clean floors, walls, which includes dusting, sweeping, mopping, etc. Clean dish machine after each meal and remove large bags of refuse to outside dumpster. MISCELLANEOUS: Assist in preparation of food or table arrangements for special holiday functions as necessary. Decorate and change decorations in dining area with holiday themes, as needed. Attend inservice education as identified by Dietary department and Agency requirements. hours/days may vary. Perform related duties as required. Use personal protective equipment when required such as gloves, masks, face shield, etc. |
