Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. •Retrieves, opens, sorts, and batches incoming paper applications mailed to PennDOT. •Inquires and processes within PENNDOT’s DL&C System, and utilizes other PC-based systems, programs, and networks. •Examines and data enters driver licensing applications within the established production standards. •Maintains a 2% or less error rate consistent with the unit’s quality standard. •Promotes teamwork to provide a superior work environment that produces quality customer service and/or products. Maintains professionalism in the workplace. Clearly speak, understand, read, and write in the English language. •Provides friendly, accurate, timely service to all customers always. •Sits for long periods of time during the workday. •Responsible for ensuring that the correct fee waiver code is used and properly documented whenever a fee waiver is necessary to process a customer transaction and complies with all aspects of the Fee Waiver Guidelines. •Responsible for aiding Clerical Assistant 3s in the unit with processing functions related to notepads within established guidelines and timeframes (such as, but not limited to change of address, returned mail, etc.) that are applicable to the responsibilities within your processing unit. •Possess manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, push-button keypad, phone and handle paper files. Performs repetitive data entry functions. •Lifts up to 25 pounds and carry same weight up to 50 feet. Travel throughout the work area and from one floor to another via elevator in an office building setting. •Effectively manage stress when confronted with an irate customer and/or fellow employee. Make independent and accurate decisions when determining to process or reject driver licensing applications. Possess a thorough knowledge of PENNDOT forms and Pennsylvania laws related to driver licenses and identification cards.
