Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Designs, or reviews the design, for components or complete EI systems, including contract documents, for a construction projects at an agency location such as a fish hatchery, effluent water treatment facility, access area, marinas, dams, and local or regional office complex structures. Reviews designs of EI components of projects prepared by professional engineering consultants by checking compliance with contract specifications, safety codes, and engineering standards. Inspects, investigates, and resolves electrical system construction problems for agency by checking compliance with safety codes, national electrical engineering standards, and engineering soundness. Obtains required approvals and permits for electrical engineering designs from Commonwealth agencies, as well as all federal, state and local regulatory authorities. Observe and provide technical guidance and quality control on the proper installation, testing, start-up, and operation of EI systems. Develops material and quantity take-offs, material and installation cost estimates, and prepares orders for purchase. May also observe the proper installation, testing, start-up and operation of EI systems. Drives to field sites to conduct inspections, develop plans, schematics, and drawings. Performs related duties as required. |
