Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. The Therapeutic Activities Aide position provides active treatment and program services to individuals. This person also assists with daily routine and scheduled programs, and provides leadership in maintaining quality programs and services. Hours of work will be Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, 7 ½ hours per day. It may be necessary to change the hours to meet the needs for special programs. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Carries out therapeutic recreational activities and individual program plans as they are written. Records data for program and plans and maintains record of attendance for individuals. Participates as an ID Team member of assigned individuals to determine appropriate actions for care, treatment, and programs. Provides program services to individuals independently or in small setting groups, in conjunction with RSA’s, TAA's and TRSW in program area by working toward individualized program objectives Participates in avenues of growth by attending meetings, training sessions and seminars, and by reviewing current literature in the field (to maintain and improve the level of professional expertise). Assists in development and maintenance of environmental concerns of assigned program areas to enhance appropriate atmosphere May be required to perform other job-related duties such as to lift, position and transfer individuals with the assistance of other employees and push wheelchairs and other adaptive devices on the level and up and down ramps. May be reassigned to other areas and may be required to work overtime. Attend and participate in health and safety training programs. Examples include training in CPR, Abdominal Thrust, restrictive/therapeutic procedures, emergency response and emergency evacuations. Utilize training as necessary to educate others and/or to provide emergency response. Performs other related duties as assigned. |
