Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. Provide support, monitoring, and direction to individuals participating in the Therapeutic Activity Services department by providing a variety of programs and activities to people as identified in the Individual Support Plan in order to provide opportunities for people/individuals to meet their personal life goals. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. An employee in this class is responsible for carrying out various individual activities related to recreational or vocational adjustment for individuals or groups. Work involves providing instruction and assistance to individuals in carrying out therapeutic activities and vocational employment as prescribed for individuals to achieve their individualized life goals. Recreational & Vocational duties include but are not limited to; assisting individuals, with various levels of mobility, communication, and skill set. Assist, support, and monitor individuals at Center wide activities, with off grounds trips, activities, programming, all employment areas including integrated/community employment. Employee is responsible to perform general housekeeping functions in their work area by completing basic cleaning tasks, maintaining needed supplies, care, and maintenance of equipment, and maintaining safe and sanitary conditions. Work is performed independently in accordance with prescribed procedures under the general supervision of a Worker or higher-level supervisor who reviews work through observation, conferences, and reports. The Therapeutic Activity Aide may at times be assigned to living areas and be responsible and accountable for assisting residential staff with development, delivery and monitoring of treatment, training and related services provided in Selinsgrove Center. |
