Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. -Composes and reviews TMDLs and ARPs. -Determines priority TMDLs and ARPs in coordination with regional staff and outside groups. -Creates sampling plans for TMDL and ARP development. -Conducts and serves as crew lead on surface water monitoring efforts associated with TMDLs and ARPs. -Conducts modeling and analyses associated with load calculations and reductions in the development of TMDLs. -Conducts modeling, BMP and reduction goal analyses to provide for ARP development. -Responds to comments associated with TMDLs and ARPs. -Represents the Department, Division and TMDL Section at meetings and on various committees. -Conducts routine quality assurance of statewide data. -Collaborates with Division staff to accomplish Division data needs. -Responds to public data requests. -Develops and coordinates contracts with vendors, consultants, sister agencies, etc. -Maintains, purchases, and tracks water quality supplies and equipment. -Develops and maintains statewide surface water monitoring and assessment plans. -Develops and maintains surface water monitoring protocols and assessment methods and related quality assurance plans/protocols. -Conducts and tracks surface water monitoring and assessment training and quality assurance audits. -Develops and maintains the Integrated Water Quality Monitoring and Assessment Report along with other Water Quality Data Reporting Applications. -Promotes the Department's mission. -Inputs appropriate data in a prescribed format to meet data quality standards set forth by guidance, training, and policy across all of DEP’s electronic data systems; to include ensuring accuracy and completeness of entries, and where available, the use of system specific tools to ensure duplicative entries and data quality issues are minimized. -This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position. This position reports to the Chief of the TMDL Development Section. Work is assigned by the supervisor based on the duties and responsibilities outlined in the job description. Significant work products are to be provided to the Supervisor for review as necessary. Assignments are made based on objectives and program priorities. Outputs such as reports, documents, data and recommendations are to be reviewed for completeness, accuracy and, where appropriate, consistency with departmental policy. Significant, official technical correspondence documents originating from the Section are to be provided for review and, where necessary, approval by the Section Chief; assistance is provided as necessary. |
