Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

The MR2 is responsible and accountable for independently performing the duties listed below. The employee in this position is under the direct control and close supervision of the Building Operations Supervisor of assigned shop.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Performs carpentry work by building cement forms, laying floors. Constructs or repairs walls, ceilings, cabinets and all wood or construction material in the carpentry trade in order to ensure our carpentry needs are meet. Lays linoleum makes repairs to floors and or resurface floors to ensure flooring is safe, neat and therapeutically pleasing. Performs painting work by preparing surfaces, applying paints or varnishes and performing other general painting duties to ensure our painting duties are meet. Repairs or fabricates metal products by operating shears, breaks, lathes, band saws and other related equipment in order to maintain, repair, rebuild or install sheet metal and ensure our tinsmith needs are meet. Performs roofing work by making repairs and or installing roofing systems of all types, flashing, spouting and downspouts. Make repairs to and installs roof drains and other general repairs in order to ensure roofing needs are meet.

Performs electrical work by repairing or replacing switches, receptacles, and/or general circuits with related equipment, installs wiring, makes terminations and performs other general electrical work in order to ensure electrical needs are meet.

Performs plumbing work by opening blocked drains, repairing and/or replacing faucets, cutting and threading pipe, installing and/or repairing water or heat systems in order to ensure plumbing needs are meet.

Performs welding work on steam lines and/or other metal products in order to keep systems/ equipment operating.

Moves equipment and furniture by using manual labor, hand trucks, dollies and related equipment, and by completing required paperwork such as property transfer forms and maintenance work orders, in order to insure that the furniture/ equipment moved in such a manner to insure that items are not damaged and that safety rules are followed.

Cleans work areas by removing all refuse and materials from the work site in order to leave the work area ready for final cleaning and/ or use.

Performs work in environmentally challenging situations, unless medically contraindicated, by utilizing respirators, being trained in, but not necessarily limited to lead work, asbestos worker and/ or related training as may be required by R2K. This work is in order to safely comply with various rules, laws and/ or standards while at the same time meeting the needs of this facility.

This position is considered "Emergency Essential" as defined in DHS Manual 7136.3 and must comply with all aspects of local Policy/Procedure 102.078.

Performs other related duties by following instructions of supervisor in order to provide for continuity of services. These other duties may include, but are not necessarily limited to other trades work, laboring, housekeeping, grounds, and some light equipment operation within your capabilities.
