Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. The employee will collect DEP required samples and performing daily analysis for chlorine, PH and hardness at the Drinking Water Treatment Plant. Responsible to assist logging and recording the daily water production in order to comply with DEP requirements and ensure a safe, cost-effective water supply. The employee will collect DEP required samples and perform daily analysis for chlorine, PH and turbidity at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Responsible for logging and recording the daily waste production in order to comply with DEP requirements and ensure safe, cost-effective operation of the waste treatment plant. The employee will operate switches, valves, pumps, chlorinators, laboratory equipment and other related equipment required to provide effective water and wastewater plant operations as defined by DEP issued permits. The employee will insure safe working conditions by following safety procedures, having knowledge of the use of safety equipment and helping to maintain clean orderly work areas. This includes work on the distribution and collection system as well. The employee will perform Plant startup operation and shut down procedures as outlined in the approved posted procedures. Employee will assist with other operational duties described on the daily or shift checklist and records results to assure a continuous and safe operation. This includes, but isn’t limited to: recording the daily flows of treated water and waste stream, recording daily chemical consumption information for use in the preparation of the Monthly Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operational Report, performing such Preventive Maintenance as designated on the Preventive Maintenance program for the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant. The employee will inspect the operation of the Plant’s chlorinators, replacing or repairing chemical injection dosing pumps for chemical injection into water/waste system, performing the required water test daily on final treated water, and recording the test results. The employee will perform other operational duties, which are described on the shift checklist. The employee will perform housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning the work area, painting, adjustments and lubrications. The employee will be responsible for guarding/securing all tools and equipment at all times in order to avoid personal injury to patients and employees and to guard against theft. Employee returns all tools and equipment to the shops and plant area after each day’s work and reports all broken or missing tools to Supervisor immediately so they can be replaced or repaired. The employee will show awareness of own personal safety, and work with fellow employees in a safe and harmonious manner sharing skills and knowledge with them and assisting whenever possible. Employee immediately reports to supervisor any unsafe conditions upon their identification. HIPAA: Employee will respect the individual’s (patient’s) privacy at all times while performing duties in hospital areas. The employee will ensure cleanliness in order to provide a safe, sanitary, comfortable, and orderly environment. Each employee, regardless of department or position has some responsibility to help maintain a clean environment. Employee performs sanitary cleanup of debris/dirt created in the course of assignment, and maintains work area and grounds in a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment. |
