Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This position is responsible to the Park Manager and Admiministrative Assistant for the operation of the park office and contact station at Little Pine State Park. These are the central points of the park where all park users receive information and instructions. An employee in this class performs clerical work of moderate complexity which requires the use of typing skills and the processing of a variety of documents which include the verification of information, performing arithmetic calculations, coding and assisting the public. Work may also involve providing training and guidance to new employees and fulfilling a lead worker role for routine clerical operations. Work may also involve providing secretarial services to the park manager. The person in this position is a primary public contact employee headquartered at Little Pine State Park.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Collect fees for camping, camper storage, Organized Group Tenting, dump station, boat launching and mooring, pavilion rentals and any other applicable fees and enter data into reservation system.

Answers telephone and responds to inquiries. Assists with monitoring park's email and responds to or forwards email as appropriate for job class.

Greet visitors, direct individuals to proper locations, take information, screen and route calls and inform the public of applicable rules and regulations.

Inventory supplies and brochures as needed. Maintains bulletin boards in campground and at park office.

Operates 2-way radio, telephones, and fax machine.

Ensures pavilion reservations are posted and unposted.

File and retrieve materials by systematically sorting and storing documents alphabetically or chronologically.

Gather and input information into the Park Portal for park authorized agreements. Present agreements to the park manager for approval.

Log or record the amount, type, disposition and the number of incoming or outgoing mail, forms and documents, etc.

Prepare labels to identify the contents of packages, file folders, mail, booklets, etc.

Handle and respond to incoming requests from the general public for information, prices and facility availability.

Operate copy machine and computer equipment.

Keeps the office and contact station clean.

Have a working knowledge of park rules, regulations, policies, and facilities.

Works holidays and weekends.

Acts as courier, as needed, to deliver money, paperwork, etc. to required location.

Checks campsites on an as needed basis to determine availability of site. Register walk-in campers without existing reservations.

Assists with the training of new office and ranger employees in the reservations system as well as general park knowledge and procedures.

Act as liaison between campground hosts and park manager.

Assists as needed with routine office duties and reservation and revenue issues.

Maintains first aid kits throughout park and prepare orders for supplies as needed.

Assists Park Manager with tracking and calculating monthly visitor attendance.
