Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. This position participates in a 6 month formal, informal, and on-the-job training programs to develop the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to review and examine tax returns, schedules and associated documents and the interpretation and explanation of state tax laws, regulations, and procedures. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Attends formal, informal or on-the-job training programs designed to develop technical knowledge, competence and skills in examining tax returns and learn the Commonwealth's tax laws, regulations, bulletins, policies and procedures. Learns how to respond to callers via Genesys telephone system, PATH and DOR’s customer service online Right Now email system. Learns how to respond to web messages via PATH. Learns how to perform administrative functions and how to explain navigational rules for MYPATH and the telephone reporting system for remitting electronic filings for Trust Fund Taxes, Corporation Taxes and MAF Taxes, all of which, encompasses various tax due dates through-out the year. Learns how to review tax filings transmitted through MyPATH and admin access TELEFILE system for incomplete, adjusted or incorrect tax returns or payments. Learns how to review tax records in PATH, BRIDGES, Imaging, and e-Signature systems, for daily work activities. Learns how to process admin access change requests via myPATH. Learns how to respond and/or address legislative inquiries received from taxpayers and their representatives. Learns how to research and apply suspended payments in PATH. Learns how to explain tax laws and procedures for tax account assessments, overpayments (credits), refunds, filing errors and payments returned uncollected to taxpayers and their representatives. Learns how to research EFT and returned check payment request from internal and external customers for current and prior years. Learns how to process payment/filing frequency change requests submitted via MyPATH. Demonstrate a commitment to the service-oriented culture of the Department. Apply Lean thinking in day-to-day tasks. Be mindful of internal controls and risk management when changes are made to a process. Treat others equitably and adheres to diversity and inclusion program requirements in the workplace. Performs other related duties as required. |
