Employee has duties and responsibilities of performing skilled tasks in accordance with standard practices of the National Electrical Code, Life Safety Code 101 and NFPA70E. This includes but is not limited to: Check all pumps for correct rotation and wiring. Repair and maintain electrical equipment and lighting across the entire facility. Install conduit/raceways, wiring, electrical devices but not limited to switches and outlets. Troubleshoot electrical issues quickly and as safely as possible. Upgrade and install new electrical panels and wiring to meet the needs of patients and staff when the electrical load requires an addition. Additional duties include but are not limited to: Inspect all electrical equipment according to our preventative maintenance schedule, utilizing proper inspection procedures. Install all electrical equipment in accordance with the NEC as needed to meet the needs of the hospital. All work will be completed in a timely and professional manner. Perform maintenance on all electrical equipment and kept operational to provide required services to patients and staff. Maintain and turn in all required records, maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance work orders, vehicle logs, and other paperwork required by the hospital and the department. Complete repairs on all equipment as expeditiously as possible, following all safety standards of industry and codes. NFPA 70E ARC Flash PPE and other safety PPE and meeting established deadlines. All tools and materials are secured and accounted for during job assignments and when job is completed. Must be able to comprehend, respond to and complete oral or written assignments or maintenance work orders as they arise. Listen attentively to all assignments and follow the instructions of supervisors. Report any problems or deficiencies in the physical plant or equipment to immediate supervisor. Perform related work as required. Performs lead work over lower-level employees performing basic assignments. Ability to lead a small group of workers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs a variety of maintenance and repair tasks on all types of electrical equipment ranging from 120v-480v. Installs and maintains transformers; inspect and maintain light and power circuits. As required but not limited to repairing, laying out and installing electrical conduits or other raceways, junction boxes, and other electrical material for power and lighting circuits. Must be able to properly use multi-meters, amp meters, and outlet testers. Must be able operate a motor vehicle. Distinguish proper color coding for typical wiring requirements. Perform duties on multiple floors and confined space areas such as crawl spaces/low head room areas in various buildings to install, repair and maintain electrical equipment. Move heavy objects such as manhole covers, electrical equipment and handle large rolls of wire. Receives verbal instructions/information via telephone, radio, and public address systems. Comprehends written communications, policies and procedures, memos, and manuals. Comprehends diagrams, blueprints and manufacturer wiring specifications. Effectively communicates with supervisors and coworkers via phone, radio and email. Sign various forms, requisitions and completes required reports for daily work. Work beyond normal shift as emergencies arise. Be available to accept calls on weekends and after normal work hours. Must be able to work a twelve-person weekend rotation. Proficiently handle any and all hand or power tools, ladders, scaffolding or aerial lift needed to perform job duties. Performs lead work over lower-level employees performing basic assignments. Ability to lead a small group of semi-skilled workers. Operates state vehicles in a safe manner, supporting work performed as per Management Directive 615.16. |
