Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Description of Duties: Employee has duties and responsibilities of performing skilled tasks in accordance with standard practices of electrical trade and National Electrical Code on all electrical equipment, systems and fixtures in facility. This includes but is not limited to: Check all pump motors, compressors, and their related controls and lubrication. Repair and maintain electrical equipment and lighting in entire facility. Install conduit, switchgear, and related controls; locate and correct power failures and shorts in circuits. Upgrade and install new electrical panels and wiring to meet the needs of patients and staff when the electrical load requires an addition. Additional duties include, but are not limited to: Inspect all electrical equipment according to schedule, utilizing proper inspection procedures. Install all electrical equipment as needed to meet the needs of the hospital. All installations must be completed within established time frames and schedules. Perform maintenance on all electrical equipment and keep operational to provide required services to patients and staff. Maintain all required records, maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance work orders, vehicle logs, and other paperwork required by the hospital and the department. Complete repairs on all equipment as expeditiously as possible, following all safety standards of industry and codes. NFPA 70E ARC flash PPE and other safety PPE and meeting established deadlines. All tools and Materials are secured and accounted for during job assignments and when job is completed. Respond to and complete oral or written assignments or maintenance work orders as they arise to insure a safe and healthy environment for patients. Respond as quickly as possible or as emergencies arise to prevent personal injuries to patients. Listen attentively to all assignments and follow the instructions of foremen and supervisors. Report any problems or deficiencies in the physical plant or equipment to immediate supervisor. Perform related work as required. Performs lead work over helpers performing basic assignments. Ability to lead a small group of semi-skilled workers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs a variety of maintenance and repair tasks on all types of electrical equipment. Installs and maintains transformers and capacitors; inspect and maintain light and power circuits. Repair, lay out and install electrical conduits, junction boxes, and other electrical equipment for power and lighting; read volt/amp meters; operate motor vehicle to transport materials. Distinguish proper color coding for typical and non-typical wiring requirements. Perform duties on multiple floors in various buildings. Work in confined spaces, such as crawl spaces and/or other low head room areas, to repair or install electrical equipment. Move heavy objects such as manhole covers at various locations to repair underground electrical equipment and handle large rolls of wire. Receives verbal instructions/information via telephone, radio, pagers and public address systems. Comprehends written communications, policies and procedures, memos, manuals, etc. Comprehends diagrams and blueprints. Effectively communicates with supervisors and coworkers via phone, radio, email, etc. Sign various forms, requisitions, etc., complete required reports and purchase orders. Work beyond normal shift as emergencies arise. Be available to accept calls on weekends and after normal work hours. Proficiently handle any and all hand or power tools, ladders and scaffolding needed to perform job duties. Performs lead work over helpers performing basic assignments. Ability to lead a small group of semi-skilled workers. Operates state vehicles in a safe manner, supporting work performed as per Management Directive 615.16. |
