Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This position performs a wide variety of clerical and public contact activities at Frances Slocum State Park, under the supervision of the Park Manager.


Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Assists administrative assistant in carrying out the duties of the Park Office.

Responsible for the accounting of all monies collected from income sources such as boat permits, group camping, camping, concession payments, parking tickets, dump station fees, pool user fees (family passes, adult passes, children passes, Senior citizen passes, pool tickets), YMCA day camp fees, and any other miscellaneous monies collected

Operates the computerized reservation system on a daily basis. This includes: making, canceling and moving reservations for camping sites; printing out the after hours posting signs, arrival reports for camping and pavilions; register camping applicants upon arrival. Maintains records and logs for all camping, mooring, and pavilion revenue and reservations.

Prepares, files, and submits to Harrisburg (when necessary) reports for Frances Slocum State Park; such as, monthly equipment sheets, EES attendance, and volunteer records. Prepares headings, etc. on monthly automotive reports to see that mileage totals are correctly entered on the reports. Checks the fuel distribution sheet to see if they total correctly, then check the figures with entries on the automotive reports. Reports errors to the park maintenance supervisor for correction. Totals mileage on the automotive reports. Completes the monthly Oil and Gas summary for the fuel usage.

Responds to general public inquiries on the park, composing letters from previous letters and replies, brochures, literature, listings or verbal instructions from the park manager or the administrative assistant.

Performs receptionist duties by greeting visitor, giving general park information verbally, distributing related literature, directing individuals to proper park locations, taking information, screening and routing telephone calls.

Files and retrieves materials per guidelines. Purges files per procedures. Moves older files to containers and labels them for storage. Maintains general offices files.

Checks electronic mail and forwards appropriately, on a daily basis. Receives and sorts parks incoming mail to ensure proper routing of documents. Prepares out going mail in accordance with postal regulations.

Maintains appointment calendar for all employees and remind them of scheduled events, training, safety meetings, etc.

Assists administrative assistant with on-the-job training, interpreting work assignments, and providing assistance to seasonal Clerks.

Knowledgeable of office equipment and operations. Keeps office and work area clean and orderly.

Maintains bulletin boards and brochure racks at office.

Inputs EE and GOPA program events and activities on the DCNR Calendar of Events using information provided by the park EE staff.

Tracks Lost and Found property per established procedures.

Updates and tracks the park radio inventory. Operates park radio in accordance with park procedures. Uses proper radio procedures, maintains radio traffic to a minimum. Ensures supervisor, ranger staff, maintenance staff, and clerical staff are aware of events in the park that may affect their job responsibilities.

Advises administrative assistant when office supplies need to be replenished.

Performs related duties, and work of lesser classifications as required.

Works in various work locations within Frances Slocum State Park.

Essential Functions
