Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This position is an entry level position that participates in a progressively responsible formal on-the-job training to learn and perform various assignments which will provide experience in the financial management of Pennsylvania State Police organization and programs.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

This position assists with the performance of the following duties under the direct supervision of the Assistant Fiscal Director:

Prepares submission of the annual department budget request, appropriation hearings request, and department re-budget; maintains a budgetary database to control expenditures and provides status reports; and reviews and approves requisitions for compliance with current policies and procedures.

Analyzes revenue, financial commitments, or expenditures against budgets, grants, or contracts to determine appropriate usage.

Monitors spending plans and funding projections for compliance with statutes, policies, or other fiscal controls.

Interacts with staff and management to understand concerns and explains auditing, accounting, and/or budgeting guidelines and procedures.

Performs other related duties as required.
