Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Reviews and verifies all available criminal history documentation to determine the disposition of criminal charges, to include juvenile and out of state charges. Research via JNET/CLEAN and communicate with law enforcement agencies, courts and other agencies to clear dispositions. Analyze arrest data and AOPC documents. Ensure the information is accurate, consistent and reliable and that it is entered into CAPTOR via departmental procedures. Computes and reviews sentence computations and parole board recommitment action changes. This function includes computing the sentence to verify the accuracy, review and analysis of legal documents related to sentencing, and re-computing sentences if required. Collects information from various sources to maintain inmate records. Cross-references information with DOC, Pennsylvania Parole Board (PPB), Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), Local and County Court, and County Prison data to validate the accuracy of content. Reviews court orders and related documentation to determine the appropriate course of action as it relates to release, change in place of confinement, or commitment credit to ensure timely and appropriate presentation for parole consideration or discharge at expiration of maximum sentence. Reviews and closes sentence computations (DC16E) and notifies appropriate contacts that the sentence structure is completed. Responds to inquiries from inmates, DOC staff, and other agencies regarding completed sentence structures. Prepares and processes affidavits and prepares requests for legal opinions for review. Prepares reports, responses or other documents requested by supervisor on a routine basis. Meets with officials and representatives of other agencies on matters related to inmate records and participates in various staff meetings with supervisors and peers. Files and maintains inmate records to ensure the most up-to-date information is readily available. Performs other related duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1.
