Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. Duties of a Farm Show Equipment Operator B are varied and diverse. It is difficult to apply a degree of importance to the different tasks because all jobs performed contribute to the completeness and efficiency of operation at the Farm Show Complex. Must maintain efficient, effective and safe operation of all equipment. Will be responsible to help setup, maintain and teardown for the various types of events held at the complex. Maintain complex grounds and facility buildings with regards to equipment operations, trash and custodial functions, general maintenance and grounds keeping and snow removal. Will perform manual labor in conjunction with operating equipment and when not completing Equipment Operator assignments. This can be a fast-paced environment with deadlines to meet to ensure events are ready and maintained throughout. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Duties performed at varying times throughout the course of employment include: Ensures the proper operation of equipment including adherence to Commonwealth of Pennsylvania laws pertaining to the highway operation of applicable equipment. Must be comfortable operating in and around crowds, livestock and other display items. Operation of large payloaders and trash compactor in excess of 32,000 pounds gross vehicle weight. Operation of, but not limited to, scissor lifts, boom lifts, stake body trucks, articulated loaders, dump trucks, forklifts, skid steer loaders w/attachments, sweepers, scrubbers, farm tractors, small loaders and lawn mowers. Operation of snowplows and loader attachment snow pushers to clear large parking lot areas, as well as, operation of salt spreader when required to spread salt on the parking lot, sidewalk areas to allow patrons/employee access to the property. Participation in unloading/loading operations of deliveries and movement of items around the complex. Serve as mentor and leader for Equipment Operator A employees in completion of work assignments and equipment operation. Performance of minor equipment repairs and preventative maintenance, in cooperation with the Farm Show Complex trades department. Responsible for the daily cleanliness and fueling of equipment. Responsible for detecting defective equipment and the ability to still accomplish tasks as required or the knowledge to terminate until repairs can be completed. Responsible for the safe operation of all equipment. Water and work arena dirt/footing. Sweep, mop, scrub floor surfaces. Haul, setup, place and teardown tables, chairs, benches, stage, steps, barriers, gates, fence, coat racks, furniture, display cases, easels, dorm beds, fans, plywood sheets, projector screens, refrigerators, wheelbarrows, fence, chain. Remove manure from various surfaces and in arena rings during livestock shows. Load and unload straw, hay and feed from trailers. Load and unload scrap metal and wood trucks. Remove tree branches and debris from creek area. Remove manure after the livestock events. Performance of manual work when not completing Equipment Operator assignments, to include, but not limited to, Help assemble, repair, clean and disassemble livestock stalls, to include cattle, horse, sheep, swine, goat and other livestock pens and poultry cages. Remove trash, manure, stickers, gum and any other unwanted items from floor and parking lot surfaces. Dust and polish furniture and fixtures. Hang and teardown signs and banners. Manually spread tanbark, shavings and straw. Custodial functions to include restroom cleaning, trash removal, stocking of restrooms. Setup tables, chairs, stage throughout to include meeting rooms. Power wash and hose down different areas/surfaces. Shovel snow sweep and clean walk areas, rake debris, and assist in keeping complex grounds and entrances clean and free of trash. Scrub down and disinfect restrooms, pens, stalls, floors and various other items. Paint walls, fence, ticket booths, coat rack and other items as needed. Use basic handheld tools and janitorial equipment. Moves and lifts heavy furniture and equipment. Distributes and delivers supplies. Maintain employees’ lunchroom, computer room and locker rooms. Completion of computer assisted duties such as computer-based training and all ESS requirements. 11.Deal with difficult internal and external customers 12.Control equipment safely at all times 13.Navigate in and out of loaders, tractors, forklifts, etc. 14.Available to work different shifts in a 7 day a week vendor controlled environment 15.Utilize and operate a motor vehicle 16.Maintain a class B Commercial Driver’s License (include in essential functions only if position has CDL requirement) 17.Maintain professionalism at all times 18.
