Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Provides the Division a support system concerning the examination and data entry of documents with a determination that customers have current and proper insurance documents in order to operate their motor vehicle.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

• Responsible for examination and data entry of financial responsibility information. Determines the proper issuance of a suspension, rescinding records, reinstatements, restorations, citations, renewals, and processing complied records of a motorist’s vehicle registration.

• Determines the denial or issuance of registration plates, cards, and stickers.

• Determines if an application should be rejected or processed with the documentation provided. Evaluates content to select proper processing or error response codes.

• Responsible for opening, tracking and processing Certified mail received in the Financial Responsibility Section.

• Responsible for completing phone verifications to Insurance agents and Departments to obtain information regarding the customers financial responsibility. Responsible for requesting documentation from the Insurance Company regarding lapse in insurance coverage. Correctly process work from the documentation obtained.

• Calculates when the customer has served the suspension or will be serving the suspension

• Responsible for completing phone verifications to insurance companies for the insurance verification audits of MV-1 and MV4ST’s.

• Enters information on the Financial Responsibility System and Carats using multiple conversations.

• Must maintain monthly a 2% error rate

• Must maintain the established monthly production standard.

• Responsible for processing unclaimed mail.

• Determines the course of documents with multiple processes.

• Examines all documentation, correspondence, checks prior to processing

• Reroutes correspondence to appropriate areas.

• Demonstrates knowledge of procedures and workflow within the Financial Responsibility Section.

• Communicates effectively with the general public, insurance agents, attorneys, Insurance Departments, legislators, internal, and external customers.

• Responsible for opening mail received in the Financial Responsibility Section.

• Responsible for the daily completion of assigned work.

• Comply with the DVS (Driver and Vehicle Services) Customer Service Policy

• Perform other duties as assigned.

4. When in an enclosed environment (office buildings, confined spaces, flagger stations, equipment pinch points, etc.), know your evacuation process and escape route, your communication protocols, and appropriately react in the event of an incident.

Examines applications for suspensions, rescinds, restores and satisfies to determine whether the customer must submit further information to substantiate the documentation previously provided in order to process the application in a timely manner.
