Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Issue camping and boating permits, collect fees at pool, campground office using the Bureau's computerized reservation and revenue system.
Assist visitors with directions and information, in person and via telephone.
Assist office clerical staff with filing and daily operations.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

· Park Office Duties
- Answer telephone inquiries regarding park hours; pool hours; rates and availability for camping, pavilion use, boat launching, boat mooring; directions to the park and local attractions; information about fees and making reservations Search for requested information regarding other parks and/or other bureaus (e.g., PA Fish and Boating Commission), and provide contact information for these places.
- Work with Park Reservation and Revenue System to assist customers with availability inquiries, or registration when contact station is not in operation; input and process daily revenues from pool, camping, or boating transactions.
- Be familiar with general park rules and regulations, and specific rules, regulations and park policies regarding camping/pool.
- Direct telephone correspondence to proper respondents in matters of administrative concern.
- Assist customers at the office window with boat launching permits; boat mooring permits; seasonal pool passes; general park information; directions to park/park areas, and local attractions.
- Process incoming mail and outgoing mail.
- Address mail and e-mail requests for park information.
- Assist in daily revenue processing.
- Handle general office requests from Park officials.
- Assist with word processing, typing, and filing.
- Types form letters; light data entry

· Pool Duties
- Assist Ranger with opening duties. Count change out of cash box and store in register.
- Accept admission fees from pool patrons and return correct change.
- Stamp outgoing patrons so that they may return later.
- Address questions and concerns of pool patrons, including condition of facilities; directions to restrooms and showers, telephone, and other park areas; refund requests
- Be familiar with park rules and regulations, and pool rules and regulations. Inform pool users of prohibited items in pool areas when necessary.
- Make interim deposits, when necessary, throughout the day. Contact Ranger to assist in preparing an interim deposit.
- Initiate closing duties at proper time. Count total daily revenue and record appropriate information on provided daily balance sheet. Record any discrepancies on daily balance sheet.

· Contact Station Duties
- Perform opening duties upon arrival. Unlock front door and keep it open to welcome customers. Raise blinds to make yourself more visible. Turn on computer monitors. Check supply of informational brochures in contact station (call office if supply is low).
- Count beginning change in cash box. Store cash box under desk and store extra cash boxes in storeroom.
- Welcome each vehicle that arrives at the campground. Assist the vehicle occupant(s) with questions about the park or the campground; prices for campsites; directions to park areas or local attractions/resources; camping reservation system and phone number; camping registration.
- Process camping registration for each customer. Distribute receipts to campers with reservations. Assist customers without a reservation with campsite selection. Use Park Reservation and Revenue System to determine site availability and to process registration for customers without a reservation.
- Enter camping fees into AWO and maintain cash balance form. Store payments in cash box.
- Monitor site occupancy, record occupied sites on daily log sheet.
- Answer telephone inquiries concerning park hours; pool hours; rates and availability for camping; directions to the park and local attractions; information about new reservation system and phone number for Harrisburg call station.
- Handle customer cancellations
- Assist Rangers with problems concerning occupancy or vehicles in campground.
- Turn on outside light at sunset.
- Print after-hours availability posting. Hang in display box outside the front door.
- When closing, return beginning change to cash box. Turn in daily revenue to Ranger or put in office drop safe. Close and lock windows and doors.

· Other related duties
- Keep neat and clean all work locations
- The above listed duties are considered the routine duties for the Clerk Typist I position at Lackawanna State Park. This does not imply that these are the only duties that the Clerk I will perform.
- Duties will change as the goal and objective of our Bureau and Department change.
