The main purpose of this position is to assist the Corrections Employment Vocational Coordinator in the day-to-day operation of the Inmate Employment office and related Re-entry duties as assigned. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Assists with ACA and BTS audits. Prepares and distributes Inmate Worker list by Housing Unit weekly. Enters Food Service work assignments within the Inmate Employment system based on hire paperwork signed by the work supervisor and inmate. Enters Education class enrollment and SUD (TC) participation as job assignments; with continued tracking of participation per direction received from Education/SUD staff. Reviews all DL-200 applications for accuracy before being sent to R&D for photo/signature processing. Tracks all DL-200 applications that are sent to R&D, sent to PennDOT, and received from PennDOT. Tracks all re-entry identification documents via Inmate Employment Tracking Spreadsheet. Audits the monthly PennDOT invoice as requested by the Business Office. Enters all unassigned work assignments for education and program refusers. Prepares inmate notification for filing and mailing. Prepares Inmate Employment files for New Arrivals and Parole Violators. Prepares and distributes all Job Placement Questionnaires. Maintains employment files of all inmates to include hard copy records of inmates' employment history and requests. Updates waiting lists per inmate requests and returned Job Placement Questionnaires. Responds to inmate requests. Communicates with inmate work supervisors via email and/or telephone correspondence on inquiries of new hires and assists with payroll, promotion, and inmate progress reports, DC-48B. Enters job changes or job suspensions based on pending misconduct sanctions and work restrictions. Performs close-outs for all inmates departing. Pulls files for the release of inmates who are state paroling and/or sentence complete. Monitors inmate idleness by adhering to the job rotation POA. Assists with Inmate Idleness Committee Meetings. Attends Job Removal Staffings. Performs other related duties as required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Exercise therapeutic care, custody, and control over inmates. 2. Effectively communicate verbally and in writing. 3. Review, analyze, and interpret information. 4. Operate basic office equipment. 5. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. 6. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. 7. Attend and participate in all mandatory training and/or testing. 8. Work overtime in compliance with provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. 9. Travel as required. 10. Be mobile over all types of physical surfaces and levels. 11. Visually observe inmates' activities. 12. Hear and identify sounds (voices, whistle, buzzer, lock release, scuffling, sudden quiet.) |
