Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Responsible and accountable for performing assigned job duties in the storeroom department. Carries out the job tasks on the grounds of the Danville State Hospital and satellite stations (NCSTU) under the supervision of the Storekeeper 2. In the absence of the Storekeeper 2, routine matters generally follow pre-established guidelines. Major decisions are deferred until the return of the Storekeeper or until discussed amongst the chain of supervision for emergency situations.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Responsible for electronic movements in S.A.P. program and maintains an adequate supply of working materials for DSH and NCSTU. In storekeepers 2's absence, ensures no disruption of daily supply workflow and routine by following pre-established guidelines and assists in ordering storeroom items, such as medical and housekeeping supplies. Processes and sends paperwork to accounting and other departments as needed.
Receives and checks in deliveries from outside vendors sent via common carrier, signing for shipments and verifying amounts and specifications against purchase orders, packing orders, packing lists, bills of lading, freight bills, etc. to ensure receipt of the correct quantity and quality. Assists in receiving goods electronically in S.A.P. MIGO.
Places supplies in proper storage by taking into consideration space required, storage condition required and frequency of use to efficiently utilize storage areas and prevent such problems as spoilage, infestation, deterioration, and pilferage.
Views Stock Transport Orders and changes them to Goods Issue Documents as required.
Operates pick-up truck, forklift, and other material handling equipment by complying with designated operators’ manuals to make pickups and or deliveries on and off grounds and to unload and or load materials from delivery trucks. Also operates equipment for movement of stock within the storeroom and to other departments. Assist in receiving drug orders for DSH.

Cleans storage areas by doing assigned tasks to maintain a sanitary and safe work environment in the storeroom.
Performs other related duties in the storeroom by following directions of immediate supervisor to assist in maintaining Danville State Hospital services and satellite stations.

Provide light Maintenance of wheelchairs and other if within the scope of repair.

Inspects quantity and quality of commodities to insure conformance to specifications. Accepts or rejects goods as indicated. Inputs information electronically into the system using S.A.P.
Assembles and packs shipment for the proper packaging and loading of goods.
Reviews inventory records and the utilization of supplies to avoid overstocking items having a low turnover rate.
Performs work in the proper receiving, storing, and issuing of materials.
Determines if deliveries are correct/incorrect and that adequate stock is on hand. Discussions held daily with Storekeeper 2. Stock Clerk II works independently on routine tasks following past practices and precedents. Special or new tasks are assigned either verbally or in writing with expectations and followed up periodically as the task evolves or becomes routine.

Essential Functions
: Provide a list of essential functions for this position. Example: Transports boxes weighing up to 60 pounds.
 
 1. Receives, examines and records receipt of goods.
 2. Stores goods in proper storage areas.
 3. Receives delivery orders, pulls stock to fill orders, checking for required specifications.
 4. Logs incoming and outgoing shipments noting date of receipt/shipment, contents and destination.
 5. Operates a forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other storeroom equipment to move oversized or heavy materials. Takes or assists in taking physical

 8. Confers with storeroom supervisor on replacement problem and new purchases.
 9. Initiates requisitions for replacement of stock on the basis of supplies on hand and departmental use.
