Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Cleans and disinfects toilets, sinks, showers, floors, walls in restrooms, bathhouses & cabins. Scrubs, dusts and polishes floors, furniture and fixtures in park buildings. Replaces restroom supplies. Disposes of waste paper. Empties garbage cans throughout the park, replaces garbage bags and disposes of garbage in dumpster. Operates a pickup truck or utility vehicle to transport cleaning equipment throughout the park. Replaces light bulbs and makes simple repairs to buildings & equipment or reports needed repairs to supervisor. Picks up litter along roadways, around buildings and in turf areas. Moves furniture and equipment, delivers supplies, runs errands. Shovels snow, sweeps and cleans walks. Performs related work as required. Employee performs semi skilled work alone or assists a skilled worker in performing routine tasks in the maintenance and construction at a state park. Makes repairs to buildings and facilities, using tools of the carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and otherbuilding trades in the performance of this maintenance work. Builds simple forms for cement work using carpentry tools, mixes and places cement, finishes cement using mason tools, and lays stone and block walls. Operates and assists in the maintenance, care and cleaning of vehicles and equipment used throughout the park. Performs groud maintenance by mowers or cutting weeds or grass, using a riding mower, hand mower, or weed eater, cutting firewood, picking up litter and trash, loads and moves material in dump trucks, or pick up trucks, clean grills, sweeps paved areas, dig holes and ditchs, cleans drains and culverts,. Duties also include site preparation, seeding and establishment of new turf areas, planting and maintaining trees and shrubs. Paints and/ or stains park buildings, signs, gates, etc. Responsible for the complete performance of general housekeeping and building maintenance by by cleaning and supplying restrooms, pit latrines, office, and all other buildings. make minor routine repairs such as replacing light bulbs ot tightening fixtures. Is responsible for the safe and proper use of all equipment, power tools and hand tools. Assist park visitors and disseminates information in a friendly, helpful manner. Completes all necessary forms/records, such as daily records, automotive mileage sheets, fuel dispensing records and leave slips. Operates two-way radio in accordance with proper procedure. Performs related work as required. |
