Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively.

To enforce all the rules and regulations of the Pa. Harness Racing Commission so that the integrity of racing is upheld.

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

1.Collect all facts as pertinent to investigations that are being conducted by the Pa. Harness Racing Commission at the Meadows racetrack.
2.Enforce all the rules and regulations of the Pa. Harness Racing Commission.
3.Compose reports to supervisors in regards to investigations underway.
4.Perform searches involving barns, vehicles,etc. as directed.
5.Monitor track practioner daily veterinarian reports and travels.
6.Interview applicants with arrest, convictions and/or racing violations including those whose fingerprints are returned for arrests following FBI results.
7.Collect human urine samples for testing as directed.
8.Inspect vital areas of racetrack.
9.Generate licenses for those applying with the Pa. Harness Racing Commission.
10. Collect and Process fingerprints.
11:Patrol barn area.
12.Work deemed necessary by supervisor.

Special Investigator can determine if rules and regulations are being violated and take appropriate action for the preparation of reports and searches as necessary. They can also determine if an applicant applying for a harness racing license needs to offer more information prior to the issuance of a license.

Essential Functions: Provide a list of essential functions for this position. Example: Transports boxes weighing up to 60 pounds.

1.	Read and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures
2.	Perform duties in an office environment as well as barn area around horses with exposure to dirt, dust and hay
3.	Utilize current technology to perform daily tasks
4.	Communictaes effectively (orally and writing) Organize and submit written reports timely.
5.	Travel to special events, OTW locations and overnight training conferences
6.	Work independently and prioritize assignments daily and weekly
7.	Conduct interviews and investigations. Attend hearings and testifies as needed
8.	Maintain integrity of evidence, samples and records
9.	Lift equipment and supplies up to 30 pounds. Walk and stand for long periods which include maneuvering over all types of physical surfaces
