Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Provides direct program implementation, support and monitoring. Provides directions to individuals participating in Therapeutic Activities Services (TAS) programs including the Therapeutic Recovery Unit programs. Works closely with other disciplines at the center to develop and implement therapeutic programs. Oversee the care and maintenance of all equipment used for TAS programs. Provides support for all TAS functions, programs, TRU, or special events as warranted.

Description of Duties:

Plans and organizes the delivery of therapeutic activities services including programmatic, therapeutic recovery unit, vocational, and recreational services to the individuals who live at the center. Provides direction to individuals participating in programmatic and vocational services.
Plans and organizes the delivery of therapeutic programmatic, therapeutic recovery unit, vocational, and recreational services to the individuals who live at the center. These services include but are not limited to; various club activities, community trips, vacations, Camp Broken Arrow, Special Activities, holiday parties with outside groups, Special Olympics liaison, Game Room, Programming areas, TRU units, the Café, and all employment areas, including community employment.

Securing and maintaining contracts for events and functions at the center. Securing contracts with outside groups that use the Selinsgrove Center facilities. Facilitating the camp and picnic lottery. Developing / maintaining the bus/transportation schedule for activities. Compiling monthly trip sheet data and entering data into database. Coordinates Christmas wrapping gift center.

Develops programmatic plans and procedures. Attends meetings to share therapeutic programmatic, therapeutic recovery unit, vocational, and recreational information as required. Consults with multi-disciplinary teams on the development of therapeutic activities services to meet each individual’s needs.

Participates in individual’s ISP’s and develops and conducts training related to programming and vocational services.

Works closely with other Therapeutic Activities Workers to provide support for all therapeutic activities and provides lead worker coverage in their absence. Participates in committees as assigned.

Work is performed under the direction of the Therapeutic Activity Supervisor and is reviewed to determine quality of services and achievement of established objectives through conferences and reports.
Requisitions and inspects proper maintenance of supplies and equipment needed for the implementation of therapeutic services.

Performs related work as required.

Ensures that services are provided as needed and written. Act as Lead worker for area/areas assigned to. Resolves issues obstructing delivery of services and brings them to the attention of the Therapeutic Activities Supervisor.
