Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. The Residential Services Supervisor (RSS) functions as the coordinator of assigned individuals and is responsible to assure the individuals receive supports and services by coordinating and overseeing the Interdisciplinary Team Process (IDT). The RSS supervises Residential Services Workers in planning, organizing support services for specific individuals in their assigned living area(s). The RSS also exercises functional supervision and direction of other IDT members to develop, implement and monitor and revise Individual Support Plans which are responsive to the individuals needs, assures active treatment and empowers individuals to make decisions and exercise control of their lives. The RSS also functions as the incident management point person for assigned individuals, ensuring that incidents are reported; reviewed and that incident information is analyzed to identify patterns and trends and strategies to assure the individual is healthy and safe. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Coordinates development and implementation of the Individual Support Plan (ISP) by assuring the individuals’ needs, wants and preferences are prioritized and integrated into the ISP work plans and that IDT members provide accurate, complete and timely information to assure each individual achieves maximum choice and personal growth. Assures each individual’s living area fosters a safe and healthy environment by providing oversight and leadership in incident /risk management activities including monitoring frequency and contributing factors to occurrences of incidents and the analysis of data to identify patterns and trends requiring implementation of preventative strategies to assure each individual is safe and healthy in their living area. Leads the Interdisciplinary Team members’ participation in identification of each individual’s priority needs and development of training plans and/or support procedures by conducting and documenting results of admission, 90 day, and annual team meetings in order to ensure a program of active treatment is established for each assigned individual. Monitors implementation of each assigned person’s Individual Support Plan and assures that the plan’s recommendations are followed through to completion in a timely and comprehensive manner by reviewing each individual’s records, personally observing services being delivered and identifying concerns to be addressed/resolved by the IDT in order to ensure each individual achieves maximum personal growth and development. Supervises Residential Services Workers by directing the assessment, development, implementation and monitoring of services, initiating corrective actions, completing staff performance evaluations and reviewing leave requests in order to maximize utilization and productivity of assigned staff. Periodically reviews records/charts in order to confirm or take corrective actions to ensure compliance with applicable policies and standards. Participates in and evaluates the effectiveness of staff development programs to develop and enhance supervisory skills, identify training needs of staff, evaluate and initiate training recommendations, plan and conduct in-service training and demonstrate more efficient work methods in order to monitor and ensure work performance meets standards. Functions as the primary source of information regarding the ISP and active treatment to oversight committees and consultants to assure appropriate provision of services and the protection of individual rights. Participates in the center’s quality improvement initiative by knowing and understanding all established goals/objectives, gathers requested information/data indicating status of these goals/objectives and provides input into the development of new quality improvement initiatives. Represents the Ebensburg Center by serving as a role model employee, complying with facility policies, advocating for individuals with disabilities, and interacting appropriately with the staff and the public in order to maintain effective and efficient facility operations. Completes related duties and assignments by interacting regularly with unit and facility staff and assisting in times of need in order to ensure consistent unit operations and achieve unit and division/facility goals. |
