Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This position exists for the operation and maintenance of state park facilities at the Laurel Hill Complex. This position contributes to the bureau's mission of protecting and maintaining the commonwealth's natural resources.



This position performs duties that are routinely executed seven days a week and will be routinely scheduled to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed for park operations and to meet seasonal needs.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Assist in the repairs and maintenance of all parks buildings.

Assist in installing and repairing windows and doors.

Assist in re-roofing old and new building roofs in all three (3) parks in Complex.

Operate zero turn mowers and tractors for grounds maintenance.

Operate commercial grade weed eaters.

May be required to operate backhoes, skid steers with various attachments, front end loaders, dump trucks, snowplows & various other related types of equipment when needed.

Scrapes, sands, and paints interior and exterior of park buildings. Paints and stains group camp buildings and cabins. Seals cabin chimneys and stone work with water sealers. Builds and paints old and new park signs.

Required to operate and run a chainsaw. Will be active in the hazardous tree removal program.

Conduct trail clearing and maintenance in all 3 parks.

May help removes snow using shovels and a variety of plow trucks.

Assist in various projects, repairs, and rehab efforts.

Utilize all hand and power tools necessary to complete assigned taks.

Performs related work as needed.
