Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. The employee in this position performs coordination and administration work for the Western Region, Office of Developmental Programs. This involves monitoring and providing consultative services to county and Administrative Entities (AE’s) Intellectual Disabilities (ID) service providers to assure compliance with Federal and State regulations, policies, procedures, and understanding of the goals and initiatives of the Office of Developmental Programs. Serve and support the region, individuals and their families achieve greater independence and choice and opportunities. This employee reports directly to the Regional ID Program Representative Supervisor. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. --Consults and/or provides technical assistance to Administrative Entities (AE), service providers, individuals receiving services, family members and advocacy groups through on-site visits training, conferences, mentoring, and other collaborative activity. Reviews and monitors AE programs and service providers to assure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. -Evaluates the quality of community programs, services, and supports through visits and the review of records in order to assure that individuals’ needs are identified and met. -Promotes the provision of quality services by encouraging and supporting the implementation of best practices. -Participates in the development of departmental policies by commenting on draft policies and making recommendations when there are policy gaps or inconsistencies Provides recommendations/ideas on program/policy development -Collaborates with other DHS offices and other non-DHS human service agencies to communicate the philosophy and initiatives of the Office of Developmental Programs and achieve the Department’s goals. --Act as Region Lead to Coordinate activity connected to assigned settlement responsibility. -Coordinates/participates in the regional implementation and management of special program projects in order to expand and enhance the availability of community services for persons with intellectual Disabilities. Coordinates and tracks waiver funded initiatives providing linkage and consultation to AE’s and agencies involved in the development process. -Participates in risk management and quality activities. -Review and collaborate in the coordination, administration, and analysis of the Medicaid Home and Community Based Waiver program, which includes the assessment of county programs, compliance with both state and federal waiver policies/procedures and preparing reports of the findings. -Acts as point person in the regional office regarding IM4Q -Informs the development, coordination, and implementation of county corrective action plans to address any problems identified through monitoring activities. - Assures accurate maintenance of statistical data needed to prepare the annual CMS report. -Provides advice and assistance to AE’s and agency officials involving the waiver program. |
