Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. This position is located in the Technology Services Office (TSO) supporting the Health and Human Services Delivery Center. The position reports to the HHSDC TSO Scheduling Unit Chief and is responsible for implementing the methods of computer operations administered by the Shift Supervisor or Unit Chief in order to meet all scheduled deadlines. This is a technical position and work will be performed under direct supervision of a Unit Chief or Shift Manager. The incumbent assigned to this position is classified as an "essential employee” and monitors and implements the operation of the enterprise batch data process. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Under direct supervision the incumbent must be able to demonstrate the following: - Apply working knowledge of the Operations Control/Cross Platform Scheduler Software. This involves monitoring the Enterprise batch data processing to ensure timely and successful completion of all processes. - Apply working knowledge of all DHS standards and methods of operations administered by the Shift Manager or Unit Chief. - Build, create, execute, and maintain daily batch schedules for production and test environments for DHS via multi-platform scheduling package. - Updates daily online reports which document outages and batch run times of payday processing. - Create and maintain daily logs to ensure proper documentation for all shifts i.e. event notification and shift turnover logs. - Monitor Mainframe Trigger Files via Command Center to meet data processing deadlines. - Acts as liaison between outsource personnel (Unisys) and technical operations staff. IE: TSO Service Operations. - Professionally handle phone calls in a 17 x 7 operating environment. - Establish and maintain effective working relationships with DHS customers and business partners. - Edit program run streams such as file tracks size, run cards, syntax, and parameters. Monitor data processing clock time, file find cycle conflicts, mass storage availability, and redirecting print files. - Monitor Mainframe Database via a Command Center for database conflicts or program loops. This would involve accessing the Mainframe via the network to execute a Unisys Exec Control Language program to access the mainframe database application. - Monitor/evaluate all installed hardware and software. This would involve following established procedures for escalating hardware or software problems to the technical team for resolution. - Input critical data and escalate this data to Database Administrators and Analysts; Application Administrators and Developers; and contracted staff. - Perform EX ETSO, HHS Tchlgy Srvs Off job duties to assist Account Administration Unit staff. This would involve accessing the Active Directory User and Computers interface to unlock & reset CWOPA network and NEDSS network accounts & passwords as well as Identity Manager & Department of Human Services web sites for assisting Business Partners and various application users. Services are provided 6am to 11pm, seven days a week. - This position is required to be On-Call 24/7 on a rotating basis with other team members. While On-Call, this position is required to respond to critical incidents, production alerts, and customer tickets. - Provide input toward process, services, and solutions provided to agency and external customers. - Work collaboratively with staff, agencies, and peers to further OIT initiatives and objectives. - Focus on enabling the objectives of peers and agencies who have specific objectives to accomplish by removing barriers and enabling or improving key services. - Seek to work horizontally across the different OIT organizations to solve and prevent problems collectively and leverage collective expertise contained in the organization. - Implement all fire and safety procedures while in the office. - Always maintain a safe working environment. - Attend training as needed. - Maintain knowledge of current windows technologies and learn new concepts in an information technology environment. - Understand the mission of the OA and the HHS TSO organization and what the organization is trying to accomplish in the Commonwealth. - Perform other duties as assigned. |
