Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. To provide cost competitive advanced engineering planning, design, permitting, project management, construction services and quality control, and technical/operational support that will result in reliable, high quality and cost-effective projects and services for PFBC facilities; this includes, but is not limited to dams, levees, fishing and boating accesses, buildings and facilities. Ensure Commission funds and grant funds are administered in alignment with the Commission's mission. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Work at this level is characterized by the preparation or review of complete engineering plans, investigations, studies and designs that have complex features and require the independent selection of courses of action for which well established guidelines are not available. The engineer in this position will be expected to independently perform complex engineering duties. Conduct regular inspections of Commission owned and operated dams in order to determine the condition and ability to be operated and maintained in a safe condition. Prepare and prioritize maintenance work lists. Prepare detailed inspection reports for submission to DEP Dam Safety. Assist in evaluation and prioritization of work efforts to maintain and repair the facilities and appurtenances. Designs or leads design team members in the development of complete flood protection projects; performs complex engineering calculations, such as the hydraulic and structural design of control works and pumping stations, the hydraulics of spillways, |
