Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Responsible and accountable for serving appetizing, nutritionally adequate meals to consumers in support of the overall departmental goals of maintaining a safe, clean, pleasant dining environment for consumers.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Prepares meals daily by grilling and toasting foods, setting up serving counter, preparing beverages, plating salads, desserts and fruits, dicing or peeling foods according to the portion control sheet in order to meet nutritional needs of consumers. Serves meals daily by dishing out hot and cold foods, pouring beverages according to the menu and portion control sheet in order to meet nutritional needs of consumers. Works at dishwasher by scraping dishes, pre-soaking silverware, loading, operating dishwasher, unloading dishwasher and storing clean dishes and utensils in order to maintain sanitation standards. Cleans all food service counters, equipment, utensils, chairs, tables, floors, walls, windows and doors by using approved cleaning compounds and procedures in order to maintain sanitation standards. Provides food supplements for consumers by preparing and delivering wards juices, nourishment’s and snacks in order to meet nutritional needs of consumers. Performs job duties in a safe manner by being familiar with safety rules and regulations in order to prevent accidents. Communicates information to co-workers, supervisors and dietitians verbally and by completing required written reports in order to provide food high in quality, prevent food waste, and maintain established budget. Maintains a good attendance record by following hospital and departmental time and attendance policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate labor coverage in the department. Performs other related duties, including attendance at meetings and in-services, special occasion food preparation and service, and assisting production staff when needed, by completing assignments made by supervisors and dietitians in order to assure a smooth, efficient operation of the department.

Makes decision to notify supervisor when food shortages occur, or if food is of poor quality.
Plans work day to complete job assignments within acceptable time frame.
Notifies supervisor if work cannot be completed during shift.
