The Globalscape Administrator is responsible for supporting the agency’s Managed File Transfer (MFT) environment through daily monitoring, workflow management, and routine maintenance. The position ensures secure and reliable movement of data across internal systems and external partners. Work includes configuring and maintaining file transfer workflows, managing user access, troubleshooting transfer issues, and coordinating with infrastructure, networking, and security teams. The administrator assists with planned maintenance, system updates, and documentation to support operational continuity. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Administer the Globalscape Managed Transfer Environment. This includes User provisioning, Folder/file administration,event rule/workflow management and report creation. Utilize openPGP to encrypt/decrypt files. Must be able to design, test, implement, and maintain workflows to support business processes. This is accomplished through consultations with the agency and vendors. Requires a thorough understanding of Globalscapes Advanced Workflow engine(Automation Markup Language). Utilize Managed File Transfer Audit & reporting facility and activity logs to identify and remediate transfer failures. Administers the SQL databases used within the Managed File Transfer Environment. This includes the development, implementation, and maintenance of database objects. Manipulates tables and indexes as needed. Maintains database backup and recovery plan. Perform and monitor scheduled backups of all Globalscape databases. This requires of knowledge relational database concepts and practices, as well as a detailed understanding of MS SQL and administration tools such as Sql Server Management Studio. Performs installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Globalscape Managed file transfer on a single server or clustered environment. Performs installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of the Identify Finder software. Identity Finder is used by the administrators to scan files for PII data. Utilize ITIL methodology to identify, track and close issues assigned by the Service Desk. Maintains a solid knowledge of policies, procedures, standards and objectives as they relate to Management Directives (MDs), Information Technology Policies (ITPs), Enterprise memos, Executive Orders. Investigates, analyzes and resolves critical and reported IT problems and incident management in a timely manner following all defined organizational policies, procedures, and directives. Investigates, analyzes and resolves critical IT problems and incident management which require deviation from traditional methods and procedures. Advises the Legacy Application Chief on all matters related to Managed File Transfer and SCO Unix service delivery, including escalation of level one problems and customer complaints relative to the business performed by the division. Maintains an up-to-date inventory of applications and infrastructure associated with the Legacy Application Division(ex:EDC Managed Service Lite Documents) Ensures the availability and overall operation of services by conducting performance monitoring and system tuning of services and databases Administration of the SCO Unix Environment Create backups of the Progress database used by LEAPS Application Performs other related duties as assigned, to include those outlined in the CoG Plan when the Plan is activated. Responds to the designated alternate or secondary location when directed in response to a catastrophic incident. |
