Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Provides clerical support for the Commercial Registration Section. Primarily responsible for opening mail, sorting & logging applications, completing mail run and processing invoices.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Opens, sorts, logs and batches incoming applications.

Types or creates mailing labels for various correspondence and registration material.

Operates a pushcart to drop-off and pick-up various items throughout the building that may include envelopes, packages, plates, reports, correspondence, transporter boxes, and other items as assigned.

Maintains security of all registration products and applications with various forms of revenue related to motor carrier activity.

Utilizes basic data entry functions in various Microsoft software packages to process, track, and inquire on work.

Process motor vehicle transactions which may also contain revenue for deposit.

Manages revenue collections and adheres to cash drawer policies.

Ensures that the correct fee waiver code is used and properly documented whenever a fee waiver is necessary to process a customer transaction. Complies with all aspects of the Fee Waiver Guidelines.

Bending, grasping, pulling, twisting & lifting objects up to 35 lbs.

Handling section telephone calls, answering general inquiries, redirecting calls or taking messages.

Checks emails and responds to emails in a timely manner.

Logging applications and invoices daily through one of the prescribed applications.

Responsible for abiding by all Commonwealth Directives, Departmental policies, and
labor/union agreements as an employee of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Responsible for maintaining a positive image to our customers on behalf of the
Bureau.

Responsible for understanding basic uses of motor vehicle forms related to
Apportioned and Fleet vehicle transactions.

Responsible for participating in employee involvement groups, committees, and
training as required.

Responsible for the safety and security of confidential information and maintaining confidentiality of documents.

Responsible for completing assignments as directed by a supervisor of the section.

Responsible for maintaining communication with supervisory staff of any clarification
of assignment, backlog or problem that may affect the section's ability to operate
efficiently in a timely manner.

May be required to work mandatory overtime.

May be required to work off-site for a temporary period.

Examine and sort mail for distribution. Ensure that proper credentials are issued to customers for processed transactions. Answer telephone calls and redirect as required
