Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organizations objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

The store manager is responsible for leading store teams in driving sales, brand loyalty, setting the expectation and providing exceptional customer service as well as recruiting and developing top retail talent. This position has full accountability for the key financial results of the store, and is responsible for the overall leadership and development of the store by building an independent, high]performing team that is dedicated to achieving results and supporting brand strategies.

Description of Duties:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to, store recruitment, interviewing and hiring; development of store staff schedules; implementing and applying policies and procedures; ensuring adherence to all marketing, merchandising, and promotional activities; promoting an excellent customer service experience; directing subordinate staff; accounting for store wide cash management issues; completing all store records; supervising all store staff and resolving personnel issues; ensuring a safe workspace; reviewing and assessing store performance metrics; and resolving all inventory-related issues. The performance of routine clerical duties is also required.

Store and Staff Management
Performs the full range of supervisory duties, including but not limited to; assigning and reviewing work; writing employee performance reviews, participating in disciplinary actions, coaching and scheduling.
Drives results by recruiting and developing high-performing teams using all available resources to interview, hire and retain top talent.
Creates and maintains a diverse, high-performing team through consistent development, coaching and motivation.
Plans and anticipates weekly operational needs of the assigned store based on local market needs.
Considers store events, seasonal needs, leave requests, etc., and maps out the weekly work schedule to ensure appropriate coverage for all hours of operation.
Effectively communicates goals and monitors the progress of the store and team members against key business metrics.
Coaches, mentors and oversees overall direction of accountabilities to meet store and agency goals.
Models, encourages and demonstrates exceptional customer service behaviors while on the sales floor.
Assesses store staff performance and delivers appropriate level of feedback or action to ensure consistent performance and customer service.
Provides on the job training to include instruction, coaching, and guidance for job responsibilities of clerks, shift runners and/or assistant managers. Identifies training opportunities to mitigate problematic behavior.
Assigns work to shift-leaders and staff.
Ensures that all staff are trained and prepared to undertake each task, and aids or guidance as necessary.
Resolves conflicts with staff and ensures the smooth operations of the entire store.
Store Brand
Ensures store is clean, safe, and presentable each day.
Creates and drives a store culture focused on providing an exceptional customer service experience.
Motivates and inspires store staff to build brand loyalty and create a positive store environment for both internal and external customers.
Cultivates an environment of open communication.
Directs the execution of brand guidelines and adheres to all Marketing promotions and Branding initiatives.
Ensures all product displays are completed in time for promotions and are built according to specifications.
Ensures store shelving adheres to approved plan-o-grams. Makes temporary local adjustments as is necessary to avoid bare shelving or other unsightly appearances.
Represent the agency in a professional and positive manner.
Store Operations
Analyzes reports on store profits or losses, energy usage, personnel assignments, inventory issues, product shrinkage, and product promotional results.
Creates and manages schedules to maximize staffing to effectively meet the needs of the business and drive store profitability.
Ensures that all contracted service providers, including trash removal, armored car service, and snow removal, are performing their duties in accordance with established standards.
Trains store staff and monitors compliance to all agency polies and processes.
Employees in this job may participate in the performance of subordinatesf work consistent with operational or organizational requirements.
Orders inventory and anticipates needs for various marketing initiatives, sales, promotions, or local events while maintaining appropriate levels.
Ensures staff rotate and stock merchandise, and overall ensures that the store is ready and prepared to do business each day.
Ensures store is open and ready for business on time.
Ensures that all shift leaders open and close stores according to standard practices.
Locates products within the store, recommends other products as alternatives, or locates inventory in other stores or via Product Lookup, Fine Wine and Good Spirits or Special Order on behalf of each customer.
Rings sales when necessary, and accounts for all money for the store. Writes deposit tickets and ensures bank deposits are correct and that they are deposited according to standard regulations.
Assists clerks with problematic sales rings, provides over-ride authority.
Pulls money from drawers when necessary, and deposits all money in the safe.
Performs related duties as required.

Decision Making:
Describe the types of decisions made by the incumbent of this position and the types of decisions referred to others. Example: In response to a customer inquiry, this work involves researching the status of an activity and preparing a formal response for the supervisors signature.

The general manager is expected to act independently and organize, assign and review the work for all the storefs employees. The incumbent makes decisions based upon interpreting established policy, procedure and precedents. Care and concern is given to ensuring superior customer service. Incidents that occur outside of established policies will require the input and consultation of the District Manager.
