Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively.

Property maintenance of public fishing and boating facilities owned or controlled by the Fish and Boat Commission in Maintenance Area 4, a multi-county region in southeastern Pennsylvania. This is specialized skilled work in the maintenance and repair of fishing and boating facilities. Assist in other improvement and construction projects.

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Operate backhoes, graders, loaders and light and heavy trucks and trailers in material and equipment hauling. Servicing of machinery – including lubrication, oil change-type of servicing, tires, etc.

Operation of trucks over 26,000 lbs. gross weight, riding mowers, tractors, weed eaters, and power equipment used to maintain facilities.

Mow areas, police areas and dispose of trash, cut brush and trees. Cleans sewers and ditches, grade roads and parking areas, repair, and crackseal and sealcoat asphalt pavement. Erect signs and bulletin boards. Route, sand, treat, and paint, existing wooden signs.

Build, install and maintain docks and mooring facilities.

Paint buildings, offices, workshops and equipment.

Have knowledge of various aspects of carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.

Form, pour and finish concrete for launch ramps. Mix cement for blocks. Form and install re-bar.

Lay field tile and do erosion control for wet areas.

Operate tools such as power trowel, power screwed, concrete vibrator, joiner, planer, saws, sanders, drills, arc welders and oxy-acetylene torches and other tools used in construction, renovation and maintenance activities.

Makes building repairs and renovations by installing shingles, siding, spouting, doors, paneling and ceiling tile.

Installs and maintains plumbing, heating and drain systems; uses pipe cutters and threaders, tubing cutters, solder and propane torches.

Makes electrical repairs and installations by running wire, placing outlets and switches, lights, and circuit breakers.

Performs repairs and preventive maintenance work on equipment and tools, and cleans and services equipment.

Maintains equipment records.

Makes welding repairs and fabricates metal components for equipment and construction projects.

Removes or replaces stop logs and adjusts control valves to regulate a drawdown or refill of an impoundment.

Performs related work as required.

1.	Knowledge of the tools and methods used in fishing and boating facilities maintenance and construction.
2.	Knowledge of the practices applied to the care and safe operation of trucks and construction and maintenance equipment.
3.	Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions in maintenance and construction.
4.	Knowledge of the principles of the operation of motor equipment sufficient to detect defective operation and to learn to make repairs.
5.	Knowledge of the state laws pertaining to the operation of equipment upon highways.
6.	Knowledge of the proper equipment and safety procedures necessary to safely enter and exit control towers.
7.	Knowledge of various aspects of carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.
8.	Use and maintain the tools and equipment of the building and construction trades.
9.	Service, make running adjustments and minor repairs to the equipment.
10.	Work outside in various conditions and on various terrain.
