Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

The employee occupying this position is responsible and accountable for determining eligibility for financial assistance under the LIHEAP Program in accordance with Federal and State mandates.

Work is performed under the direct supervision of an Income Maintenance Casework Supervisor.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Interviews applicants by asking questions to gather data to make a determination of eligibility.

Data entry of application information into eCIS to determine eligibility for LIHEAP benefits.

Validates data by verifying information to substantiate eligibility for LIHEAP.

Gathers data from all income documents using either the 90-day or 12-month method to assure that the applicant receives the most equitable evaluation or benefit.

Maintains control of pending applications by: daily access of Dashboard; filing applications in appropriate in accordance with office procedures; and scanning, imaging, and attaching information to corresponding application.

Reviews mail-in applications according to LIHEAP procedures.

Work assignments are made by the Energy Assistance Supervisor and is limited to the LIHEAP Program.

Work is performed under the close supervision of the Energy Assistance Supervisor who reviews all work for completenss, accuracy, adherence to program regulations, and eligibility.
