Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. This position’s primary purpose is to provide on grounds transportation for consumers, although other duties will be assigned as appropriate. Works 6:45am to 2:45pm, 7:00am to 3:00pm and 8:00am to 4:00pm every 3rd or 4th weekend on rotating shifts. Operates trucks, buses, vans, tractors, dump trucks, steel – wheeled rollers, forklifts, front-end loaders, skid steer loader, etc., with a GVW of up to 32,000 lbs. Operates tractor mounted grass mowers and performs other related duties to ensure the grounds are maintained in a safe and attractive condition. Transport’s consumers, employees, food, laundry, furniture, storeroom supplies, drugs, equipment, building materials, etc., both on and off campus. Sanitizes vehicles/trucks weekly, or as needed. Operates equipment such as snowplows, snow blowers, deicing equipment, etc. in the performance of snow and/or ice removal. Performs manual work using both powered and non-powered tools such as jackhammers, drills, hammers, saws, etc., appropriate to the construction and/or maintenance trades. Loads and unloads trucks, cleans streets, and catch basins, cuts and trims grass and brush. Completes safety checks and inspections of equipment prior to leaving grounds in accordance with DOT regulations. Performs general maintenance of equipment/vehicles to include, cleaning the interior and exterior, waxing, performing minor repairs and preventive maintenance and/or assists the automotive mechanic making major repairs to equipment, to maintain equipment/vehicles in a safe and functioning condition. Demonstrates the operation of assigned equipment to other employees. Performs other related work as required. Obtains and maintains CPR Certification and utilize skills as necessary. |
