Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. The purpose of this position is to assist with the harvesting, sorting, counting, classifying and bundling tree seedlings at a large forest tree nursery. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. A. Tree Seedling Harvesting -Lift seedlings from beds and pack in tubs for refrigerated storage. -Count, grade, bundle seedlings according to species and size -Classify seedlings by stem diameter and height -Place bunches of quality seedlings on moving conveyor belt -Discard damaged or under-sized seedlings -Identify seedlings by species -Places bundled seedlings on steel racks for refrigerated storage. B. Nursery Seeding Operations -Gather pine needles for mulching seeds in nursery beds -Weeds seed beds -Transplants nursery stock -Gather cones, and seed in seed orchards C. Miscellaneous -Completes daily seedling tally forms -Completes daily time sheet for supervisor -Cleans and maintains counting room in orderly condition daily. -Performs similar duties as requested |
