Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. An employee in this position provides enforcement of DHS and WSH policies, procedures, and safety regulations in order to safeguard the Hospital and its property against fire, theft and/or vandalism, maintaining order among patients, employees and visitors. Supervision is directed through the Security Officer 2, Safety Manager and Chief Operations Officer. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. ~Responsibility to know Security’s role in fire alarms and escort of emergency response agencies coming into service on the WSH campus. Performs Bomb Threat Response as required. ~Compliance with all facility operating instructions and regulation to include the Security Manual, related policies and procedures, Emergency Operation Plan and Special Orders. ~Directly responsible for traffic and parking control according to established policy. ~To provide desk duty and patrol duty either by vehicle or foot patrol. ~Desk duty will require answering telephone calls, monitoring and registration of visitors and communication of radio traffic. ~Patrols hospital grounds completing checks of all areas providing access control and interior/exterior checks. ~Maintains a daily log of activities in chronological order and reviews other logs and communication on a daily basis. ~Conducts security and safety related investigations and documentation. ~Completes incident reports and associated documentation where required for all desk and patrol duties for all shifts, inclusive of a log of activities. ~Conducts searches of patients, visitors, employees as well as property searches where required. ~Completes bank deliveries as well as maintaining security of these items. ~Performs investigations and completes investigative report as necessary. Performs additional duties as directed. ~Security Officers will be required to be in possession of a current valid Pennsylvania Driver's License. ~Secure transport of patients as required. ~Officers will be trained in CPR/AED certification as well as MANDT. ~Supervision will be directed through the Security Officer 2, Safety Manager Chief Operations Officer and by general discussion, posted instruction and periodic conferences. Work will be reviewed through inspection, document review and on-site observation. |
