Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. The Residential Services Unit Manager is responsible for performing administrative, professional, and programmatic (residential living) work at Ebensburg Center. Incumbent reports to the Director of Residential Unit Managers and is administratively responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and supervising the full range of therapeutic, habilitative programming, and service functions for the Ebensburg Center on a 24 hour basis. The employee regularly reviews programming objectives and daily needs, modifies schedules, procedures/routines to ensure their appropriateness and effectiveness in relation to overall unit goals and individualized habilitative programs and services designed to meet the needs of the Centers resident population. The Unit Manager provides direct supervision to Residential Service Aide Supervisors. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Specific duties include: 1. Plans organizes, and directs work effort of the unit teams through meetings with subordinate staff, prioritizing work assignment, delegation of authority and responsibility, reviewing and evaluating work efforts, in order to ensure that quality services to individuals that meet standards for full licensure 2. Monitors services delivery by direct observation at the service delivery location, analyzes individuals reports, completes chart reviews, conducts staff meetings, and consults and/or hold individuals meetings in order to ensure that quality services are provided to meet individual needs and standards 3. Provides direct supervision by giving direction and guidance to subordinates in order to ensure clear understanding as to their mission, goals/objectives, review of staff performance, to ensure an effort and effective staff contribution to the service delivery system 4. Arranges for staff training by conducting in service training, on-the-job training, and training through Facility Training in order to improve staff knowledge, skill, and ability level therein enhancing the delivery of quality service. 5. Relates management interpretation of applicable policies, procedures, contractual rights, and allegations to subordinate staff through employee conferences, staff meetings, and memoranda in order to reprise staff of guidelines necessary to perform job duties. 6. Attends and becomes a Certified Abuse Investigator and functions as such for the facility when needed. 7. Conducts Pre-Disciplinary Conferences and administers disciplines as needed. 8. Makes rounds to all living areas during the shift, monitors meals, and makes general observations. 9.Coordinates duties and training related to residential supervisory staff and therapeutic recreational staff to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures. 10. Functions as the facility manager in charge of scheduling functions as it relates to residential services aides and supervisors. 11. Collects, organizes, and reviews incident and injury data from all available sources for the purpose of reducing or eliminating recurring resident incidents; and creates and implements plans for new and revised safety procedures. 12. Directs the development and implementation of program plans such as individual support plans, group plans, unit plans, etc., for each assigned resident by using program observation, reports, audits, critical incident reports, etc., and reviews treatment plans, focus work groups, plans, policies, procedures, and timetables for completion to revise and implement facility policies and objectives according to applicable standards. Performs other duties as assigned. |

Work will be reviewed per assignment and in accordance to ODP Personnel guidelines. |
