Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. Employee in this position will be required to work weekends, holidays and varying shifts as 24/7 park operations dictate. This seasonal position performs a variety of work in Lackawanna State Park Complex, including clerical work, customer service at the park office, Contact Station, and Pool booth, at Lackawanna State Park. This position answers park specific questions from the public concerning park facilities, environmental features and history. In accordance with Act 153 of 2014 this position is required to complete Child Abuse, Criminal and Federal Criminal History Checks around the time of hire and thereafter every 5 years. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Employee in this position presents a professional image to the general public through uniform appearance, verbal skills, and knowledge of the park, environment, history, and the rules and regulations. Duties include: Providing customer service to park patrons at the park office, contact station, and pool entry booth, including answering telephone, assisting visitors with reservations, handing out park and pool permits, registering campers using the reservation system, collecting revenue and providing guidance to visitors on area activities, park rules & regulations, directions and general park information. Engaging with park visitors to provide information and answer questions regarding facilities, recreational schedules, available environmental programming, park history, and environmental features. Reports directly to the Park Manager or an appointed supervisor in the manager's absence. Informs the Park Manager or DCNR Ranger's of any noted visitor actions requiring additional enforcement. Directs traffic during busy time at the park day use area. Reports any observed safety hazards and ensures that the posters, bulletin boards and signs are current and serviceable. Ensures that equipment and work area are maintained in a clean and neat condition. Assists in park emergencies when requested. Requests assistance from the park manager or DCNR Rangers when needed. May need to perform first aid and/or CPR in emergency situations. Assists with environmental education programming as requested. Remains on task or in assigned area unless otherwise directed by immediate supervisor. Prepares required reports in a timely manner. Assists with campground reservations and oversees campground host program. Performs other related duties as described by the Park manager. |
