Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. The primary duty of this position is to provide trade services in repairing or conducting preventative maintenance to facilities equipment, and various infrastructure within the Pinchot Forest District. This position will also assist with wildfire suppression equipment and assist with wildfire suppression activities. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Provide Maintenance of District Facilities, Fire Towers, and Radio Repeater locations which includes the following but is not limited: 1. Cuts grass using lawn care equipment. 2. Install and maintain signs and gates within the Pinchot State Forest. 3. Install and maintain kiosks within the Pinchot State Forest. 4. Maintain and construct trails or roads within the Pinchot State Forest. 5. Removes snow from sidewalks and parking lots using basic snow removal equipment. 6. Opens blocked drains; repairs leaky faucets; couple or disconnect pipe; and cuts and threads pipe. 7. Replaces bulbs, shades, switches; assists maintenance repairmen 2 or electrician in major electrical maintenance and repair. 8. Installs doors or flooring materials; makes repairs to floors; takes out and replaces screens and repairs screens as needed; replaces broken windows, and repairs door checks and locks. 9. Makes minor repairs and adjustments to equipment and oils / grease and cleans machinery when assisting with wildfire equipment or various maintenance equipment. 10. Mixes cement and plaster; to complete sign, gate, or kiosk installations, assists with to block walls, bricks and pour cement forms; and makes minor plastering repairs. 11. Paints buildings, gates, kiosks, signs, rooms, walls or other surfaces as assigned. 12. Maintain in ready condition and provide for maintenance of all assigned vehicles, tools, equipment, and communication devices for wildfire response. Assist the wildfire program within Forest District 11, assist with the Hazleton Tanker Base, assist with wildfire prevention programs, Plan, Implement, and Conduct wildfire control, suppression activities, assist with prescribed fire activities. Become certified, maintain position(s), according to Bureau of Forestry policy and procedure and / or NWCG guidelines for wildfire suppression work. Protect watershed values within the Pinchot State Forest. Protect unique flora and fauna, geologic formations, watersheds, stream quality, and archeological features on the Pinchot State Forest. Collect various types of data with GPS units. Oath and Duties of Pennsylvania Forest Fire Warden. Other Duties as assigned. |
