Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

Responsible for the maintenance, repair and general improvements of the buildings, landscaping, grounds, parking lots, sidewalks, fences and all mechanical systems at the Southwest Regional Office.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Maintenance, repair, upkeep and general improvements of the entire regional complex; consisting of the main office, garage, parking lots, sidewalks, landscaping, lawn and grounds of approximately 7 acres.

Monitoring and scheduling maintenance for on-site water source, ultra-violet water treatment equipment, backup power generator equipment, building and landscaping drains, walk-in cooler, sewage holding tank monitoring and coordination of disposal services and on-site DEP licensed sewage treatment plant (vegetation control and chlorine dousing unit).

Maintaining and repairing water pipes, furnaces, air conditioning units, back-up generator, electrical service, motors, doors, windows, gutters, roofs, downspouts, shelves, cupboards, displays and other items as necessary.

Painting, caulking, dry wall repair and minor renovations as well as maintaining and repairing floors and ceilings as needed.

Moving furniture, including assembly and disassembly, and maintaining all restroom facilities to include repairs and upgrades as needed.

Installation and repair of electrical circuits, light fixtures and outlets.

Repairs and replaces interior water lines and plumbing fixtures.

Rough and finish carpentry as needed for building and grounds maintenance.

Mowing, spraying, liming and fertilizing the lawn areas.

Maintenance and repair of the parking lots, sidewalks and driveways.

Erection and maintenance of signs, planting flowers, shrubbery and trees, pruning and trimming shrubs and trees, maintaining and repairing landscaping blocks and walls, trimming and weed control.

Maintenance and repair of all tractors, mowers, snowblowers, air compressors, pressure washers and all other small engine equipment including but not limited to carpentry tools, metal working tools and handheld power tools.

Installation and removal of mobile radios, deer racks, trailer hitches and emergency lights, as well as wiring lighting systems for trailers.

Maintenance and minor repairs to motorized vehicle fleet to include changing oil, filters, hydraulic hose assemblies and repairing wheel bearings on utility trailers and bear traps.

Rewiring and repairing all lighting systems and wiring harnesses on trailers and bear traps.

Moving vehicles, trailers and equipment to and from repair vendors, to and from PGC and other state buildings and properties, and to and from PGC related public events. Also includes cleaning and washing all PGC vehicles and equipment as needed.

Use welding and brazing equipment to maintain and repair bear traps and trailers, fabricate trapping equipment for wildlife surveys and projects, construct and repair metal gates and fences, construction and repair of PGC displays and other equipment or items as needed.

Plowing and snow removal during inclement weather as well as clearing, salting and maintaining all parking lots, sidewalks, entries and exits (both public and employee only) as needed and determined by inclement weather.

Repair and maintenance of all roofs and flashing.

Assist regional office supervisors and staff with setting up and dismantling the office and garage for bear check station, biological data collection, training and public events. Further assist with processing and collecting biological data at the regional office bear check station and extracting tissue samples from deer for chronic-wasting disease monitoring and testing.

At the discretion of the Conservation Administration Supervisor, perform and submit quarterly and semi-annual building inspections as required by state regulations. Further, as discrepancies are found or discovered, work to ensure these items are addressed and corrected as quickly as possible.

Maintain all Material Safety Data Sheets and Hazardous Substances Survey Forms as mandated by state regulation and law.

Maintain and oversee an active insect and rodent control program at the regional office compound as needed.

Oversee the regional compound fire extinguisher and AED maintenance, scheduling fire extinguisher inspections as necessary.

Pick up and deliver supplies and vehicles to and from the Harrisburg office. Also, assist with unloading trucks with deliveries, and aid staff in filling requisitions from regional personnel.

Assist the region with Right-To-Know Act compliance by providing training to other employees as needed.

Attend and successfully pass all trainings as required to perform job duties and functions.

Other duties as assigned.

In coordination with regional supervisors, makes decisions regarding priorities and needed maintenance and repairs to buildings, grounds and equipment related to or pertaining to the Southwest Region Office complex.

Essential Functions
