Position Purpose:

Provides clerical and office support within the State Correctional Institution at Muncy to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively.

Description of Duties:
Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

GENERAL DUTIES:

•Preparation of general correspondence and/or memoranda for assigned area including, but not limited to, typing, faxing, copying, scanning, emailing, mailing, filing. Creation and distribution of general items such as meeting minutes, memos, gate clearances, etc.

•Attend meetings to take minutes as assigned and distribute as appropriate.

•Receive and sort incoming mail and distribute to appropriate staff as needed. Read and respond to emails

•Receive incoming phone calls and direct to appropriate staff, take messages, or supply information as permitted by policy.

•Data entry, information maintenance and dissemination across several DOC applications as appropriate, including, but not limited to, APR, DOCNet, Mainframe, etc.

•Order office supplies for designated work area as needed.

•Provide Switchboard coverage as needed, in accordance with coverage schedule.

•Other duties as assigned by Clerical Supervisor and/or work area Supervisor.

•Perform all job functions with accuracy, within a timely fashion, and in accordance with the Department of Correction and local policies and procedures, as well as state laws.

13. Hear and identify sounds (voices, whistle, buzzer, lock release, scuffling, sudden quiet) [in an institutional setting
