Performs a variety of duties associated with the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor.

Performs a variety of duties associated with the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment.

Develops and installs electrical conduits for power and lighting at department stocking areas; locates and corrects power failures and short circuits; makes repairs to controller's lights, power circuits and electrical generators; installs open and concealed wiring switches, and controls.

Installs, alter, repair, maintain, and test equipment and connections. Removing, repairing, and replacing defective controls and components; performs preventative maintenance on electrical equipment, panels, and generators; reading and interpreting blueprints; and locate defects in a wide variety of electrical equipment and systems.

Troubleshoots and resolves power failures and electrical issues. Replaces worn or failed switches and outlets.

Work is assigned by the district Facilities Building Maintenance Foreman in line with electrical related duties. Work is reviewed by the same by discussing results of the assignments.

Essential Functions: Provide a list of essential functions for this position. Example: Transports boxes weighing up to 60 pounds.

1.	Required to have: considerable knowledge of the tools, materials, methods, and practices of the electrical trade.;
2.	Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the electrical trade and working with high voltages.;
3.	Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and use of equipment and testing devices of the electrical trade.
4.	Required to work with the District Traffic Unit for the conversation and repair of highway and bridge lighting systems.
5.	Have sufficient physical strength to permit the performance of manual tasks as needed.
6.	To work under a variety of adverse conditions in response to emergency conditions.
7.	To work under a variety of conditions such as extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, dust and snow.
8.	Operate the District bucket/crane truck as directed and performs daily routine maintenance checks & procedures.
9.	Required to maintain the bucket/crane truck in a safe operating condition.
10.	Perform other duties as assigned and directed.
