Position Purpose: Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. At Little Buffalo State Park, this employee is primarily responsible for taking payments at the pool contact booth, using the cash register, and following established money handling guidelines in compliance with the cash management policy. This employee will also provide clerical support as needed. |

Description of Duties: Describe in detail the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Descriptions should include the major end result of the task. Example: Types correspondence, reports, and other various documents from handwritten drafts for review and signature of the supervisor. Acts as the primary public contact at the pool contact booth. Strictly adheres to the Cash Management Policy. Takes payment from the public and enters transactions into the cash register. Follows established money handling procedures including maintaining accurate cash drawer and using drop safe when prescribed by the procedure. Maintains proper records using daily forms, printed receipts, and cash register tapes. Follows prescribed procedure for opening and closing the pool contact booth. Notifies the Park Manager of all current happenings at the pool contact booth and pool area. Acts as the receptionist to the public, to courteously explain the rules and regulations concerning the park and gives the visitors information that they are seeking or refers them to the proper person. Answers general correspondence by compiling and sending requested information such as maps and program guides. Screens telephone calls, takes messages and relays them to the proper individual. Operating and maintaining a personal computer and other computer accessories including scanners, printers, and other peripherals to complete job duties. Operating a fax, copy machine, laminator, and cash register. Radios and telephones are also used for daily communication between office and other park personnel. Utilizes the reservation and revenue system to enter all sale transactions and accounts for all the revenue that is accumulated from the pool, campground, and park office. All cash drawers are reconciled, checked for accuracy, and errors are corrected. Is accountable for the sales of watercraft launching and mooring permits and pavilion rentals. Registers campers, sells swimming pool passes and group tickets. Establishes and maintains effective working relations with other employees and the public. Attends training meetings as required to better the employee’s knowledge of the Department of Bureau programs. Organizes and maintains park brochure racks and storage areas. Maintaining a clean and orderly work environment. Performs light cleaning of pool contact booth. |
