Position Purpose:
Describe the primary purpose of this position and how it contributes to the organization’s objectives. Example: Provides clerical and office support within the Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. 

This position's primary responsibility is to perform complex time-sensitive and data sensitive work in a mail production environment that involves the operation of high-speed, high-volume mail equipment; as well as the delivery, shipping and receiving of materials and supplies.

ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE - REQUIRED TO REPORT TO WORK DURING EMERGENCIES AND OFFICE CLOSINGS

Employee is responsible operating high-speed, production-level printers and inserters to produce a variety of forms, letters, manuals, brochures, posters, marketing materials, envelopes.

Employee is responsible for the setup and operation of various high speed digital printers, reviewing job specifications, preparing, programming, and releasing jobs from print queue.

Employee is responsible for the setup and operation of various intelligent envelope inserters with production being of time sensitive and data sensitive mail.

Employee is responsible for performing quality assurance and quality control inspections to verify files have been printed correctly, proper paper stock is used, print quality is consistent throughout the entire run, and that the printer recovered correctly from jams or other printer issues.

Employee is responsible for inspecting all variable print output to ensure data is printing in expected locations; and identify and resolve print-related issues.

Employee is responsible for the setup and operation of digital offset equipment; must produce consistent color throughout the run and troubleshoot issues that arise.

Employee is responsible for performing hand-related bindery tasks including comb binding, spiral binding, banding, padding, and envelope insertion. In addition, will be responsible for packing, wrapping, and sealing materials for delivery.

Employee is responsible for entering print production activities into the Bureau's print management system and ensuring all work is completed within scheduled deadlines.

Employee is responsible for maintaining digital equipment by performing designated maintenance duties on a daily basis such as, changing toner and fuser oil, clear and clean paper jams, change filters, restring cortrons and clean sensors. In addition, responsible for making minor repairs and adjustments.

Employee functions as a lead worker for print production work by assigning and reviewing work, training employees, and performing quality control functions for the work.

Employee performs other related work as required.
